UHN establishes Krembil Brain Institute to harmonize and integrate clinical and research programs
UHN today established the Krembil Brain Institute (KBI) to formally create an academic health sciences entity that harmonizes the clinical and research priorities in the neurosciences. This new Institute will help clinicians, scientists and researchers based at Toronto Western Hospital and across UHN work together to seek better treatments and cures for diseases of the brain, spine and nerves.

(Toronto - December 12, 2017) With a transformational gift of $20 million to the Toronto Rehab Foundation, Walter and Maria Schroeder, along with their family, have established The Walter and Maria Schroeder Brain Institute. This donation represents the largest ever made to a rehabilitation hospital in Canada.
